WHGA MEMBERSHIP Welcome to the World Health & Golf Association The World Health & Golf Association consists of kindred spirits who share the mission of promoting amateur golf for philanthropic purposes. WHGA Membership consists of individuals, corporations and charitable partners who make an annual contribution to support WHGA charitable beneficiaries: The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, The First Tee program at Whispering Pines, Houston-Harris County Immunization Registry and Medical Bridges. Through their annual contribution, WHGA Members enjoy membership benefits to Whispering Pines Golf Club, voted in 2006, 2007 and 2008 as the #1 Golf Course in Texas by the Dallas Morning News. Located in Trinity, Texas, Whispering Pines Golf Club is approximately 88 miles north of Houston in the piney woods along the shores of Lake Livingston. Operating on a two season basis from March to June and from September to December, Whispering Pines offers members and their guests an intimate, world class golf experience. Every Game of Golf Deserves a Great Platform
A USGA Course Rating is the USGA's evaluation of the playing difficulty of a course for scratch golfers under normal course and weather conditions for the purpose of providing a uniform basis on which to issue USGA Handicap Indexes. It is expressed as strokes taken to one decimal place, and is based on yardage and other obstacles to the extent that they affect the scoring ability of a scratch golfer.  [ + ]
